Bibliography: Books on Syria

Kociekowski, Marius: “The Street Philosopher and the Holy Fool” (Sutton, 2004)  Canadian writer travels through Syia.

Lesch, David: “The New Lion of Damascus” (Yale Univ Press, 2005). The rise to power of presidente Bashar Asad nel 2000.

Lieve, Joris:: “The Gates of Damascus” (Lonely Planet, 1999) the story of a Syrian journey by a Belgian writer. Interesting insight into local life in a family where a young man is arrested for political reasons.
