Guest Speaker

Recalling how I rode on the nose of a Soviet nuclear bomber

In the last few years I have started giving talks on cruise ships.

It is a natural extension of my previous careers in academia and as a civil servant at NATO, where I was often engaged in speaking to the media and international conferences.

Contact me if you would like to engage me for a public talk or as a keynote speaker for a private event.

Topics include current affairs, military strategy, underwater photography, wine.

I can be booked via one of my agents: Cruise Ship Enrichment and Peel Talent.

  1. My wife and I just got back from a cruise with Oceania aboard the lovely Sirena. We really enjoy cruises and sea days because there is something for everyone on a ship. One of my absolute favourite things to do is to take in the Enrichment Lectures. I love to get accurate information clearly communicated and without bias which seems to be getting more difficult to find each day. The first lecture I went to was on NATO by Marco Carnovale. Marco worked for NATO for years so who better to speak on the subject. He gave us a full history of NATO all the way to current events. It was fascinating!

Another subject Marco Carnovale did a talk on was about Madeira wine. It turns out he is also a Sommelier! Once again, Marco gave a fantastic lecture on the history and the making of Madeira wine. I had the pleasure to speak to him during the trip and I found him to be very personable, knowledgeable, and professional. What you see at the lectures is what you get when you meet him. It’s clear to me that he is one of those guys that is good at everything he does. I thoroughly enjoyed his lectures and good company and hope to see him again!

  2. We attended several of Marcos’ talks on the recent Sirena
transatlantic voyage. They ranged from the development of
NATO, the European Union, the Cold War and Wines of Maderia.
All were well delivered with great graphics. Thought provoking
,nonpartisan and comprehensible to anyone without background
knowledge. The highlight of the speaker talks.

  3. Marco's lectures on NATO were most interesting because he could combine his deep academic knowledge with his personal experience working for the organization.
